Eating healthy on a budget

Dear Stella,

How are you? The last time I talked to you you were telling me that you wanted to eat healthier but were on a budget. I've been really thinking about what you said and thought that I might have some suggestions for you. Eating healthy does not have to cost as much as you think. People also think that eating healthy takes a lot of preporation. Eating healthy can have a lot of health benefits and you'll feel great.

People tend to think that eating healthy costs to much money but that's not always true. I don't like to buy pre-packaged foods because it's the packaging that costs more money than the food itself. When you go to the market it's always good to look at what is on sale. When your living on a budget like most of us it's always good to know how much your spending on groceries fof the week. I always like to make a list of what I need before heading to the market. If your buying packaged foods, it's always good to read the ingredients. It's always better to buy foods that contain less ingredients. Try to avoid eating out because it could cost you up to two days worth of groceries.

Eating healthy does not have to be hard or time consuming. Soup is one of my most favorite things to eat. It's full of vitamins and nutrients because what ever you boil in the water stays in the water. Salads are always good to eat and they are easy to make. It's always very good to eat one or two pieces of fruit per day. Instead of buying orange juice you could always squeeze fresh oranges. to make juice. Steaming veggies is always a good way to get vitamins in your food. Fried food is not the best way to go but if you do use good oil. I love to use olive oil or canola oil.

Eating healthy can have a lot of health benefits. If you eat the right foods on a regular basis then you may not even need to take vitamins. Eating well is good for your whole body. For example if you eat an orange you get viamin C. If you drink milk you get vitamin D. All you need is a serving size. A little of each of these foods everyday is enough for your body. If you eat a well balanced diet you could also prevent high blood pressure, high cholestorol and diabities. Remember your body is like a machine the better you put into it the more you get out of it.

So Stella remember when you buy groceries take into cosideration how much you want to spend, the time you have to prepare the food and how you want to feel in the long run. I think this is a great step that you are taking into a healthier lifestyle and I support you 100% on your decision. I hope that this letter will give you an idea of where to start when it comes to eating healthy.Talk to you soon.

Sincerly,

  1. Hey Kathy, so I've read your entry and I liked how you explained well your thoughts. However, you might want to avoid using the same starting phrase for the third and forth paragraph. You might want to rephrase it because it is kinda redundant but other than that, you have sighted good points. I understand some typo errors because I am pretty sure I have one too but try to recheck it. You can type it on the microsoft word and just repost it here because microsoft word has this automatic spelling checker. =)

  2. i like your intro no suggestions on that...
first sentence of the 2nd paragraph the "to" should be a "too". i also agree with Krysllin that you should change one of the starting sentences in paragraph 3 or 4. and just basic spell checking. also you forgot to put your name in the end you ended "sincerly"
